Chitale Bingebar

Client: Chitale   |   Carton Packaging Design

Bingebar is a range of savoury snack bars inspired by popular Indian namkeens and designed for convenient, on-the-go consumption. The project focused on designing the outer carton packaging that would house and display the bars in retail environments.

The carton needed to communicate flavour, brand personality, and product convenience while standing out in the competitive snack category.

Deliverables: Retail carton design, flavour identification system, packaging layout

The Challenge

Creating strong shelf presence for a new snack format

Snack shelves are often crowded with competing visual cues. The challenge was to design a carton that could capture attention while clearly communicating the product inside.

The packaging also needed to work across multiple flavours and function effectively as a retail display unit.

Packaging Strategy

Bold contrast and clear flavour navigation

The design uses the brand’s signature black base to create strong contrast on shelves and differentiate Bingebar from traditional snack packaging.

Distinct colour accents identify each flavour, allowing easy navigation while maintaining a consistent brand identity.

Carton Design

Built for display and communication

The carton was designed to function as both protective packaging and a retail-facing display surface. The layout prioritizes the Binge logo, flavour colour cues, and ingredient visuals to quickly communicate the product while maintaining the brand’s playful personality.

An integrated zipper opening feature was introduced to enhance usability, allowing for a cleaner and more engaging unboxing experience. This detail not only improves accessibility but also reinforces the brand’s focus on convenience and everyday consumption.

Shelf Impact

Against brightly coloured snack packaging, the dark base creates a strong visual break on shelves.

This contrast helps highlight flavour colours and product cues while making the brand instantly recognizable.
